Program objective

This program provides funding to prevent terrorism, reduce fraud and improve the reliability and accuracy of personal identification documents that states and territories issue. The program is intended to address a key recommendation of the 9/11 Commission to improve the integrity and security of State-issued driver’s licenses (DL) and identification cards (IC).

In addition, 2 C.F.R. Part 200, Subpart F – Audit Requirements, applies to existing awards for this program for recipients’ fiscal years that began on or after December 26, 2014. If new funding is provided for this program, all of 2 C.F.R. Part 200 will apply to this program.
