The purpose of the State Offices of Rural Health (SORH) grant program is to assist states in strengthening rural health care delivery systems by maintaining a focal point for rural health within each state. The program provides funding for an institutional framework that links small rural communities with state and federal resources to help develop long-term solutions to rural health problems

The 50 SORH supported 93,118 technical assistance encounters to 26,712 unique clients including healthcare providers, small rural hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities, and other community based organizations, networks, and associations
In FY 2021, the 50 SORH supported 91,562 technical assistance encounters to 24,544 unique clients including healthcare providers, small rural hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities, and other community based organizations, networks, and associations.
In FY 2022, the 50 SORH supported 90,745 technical assistance encounters to 30,154 unique clients including healthcare providers, small rural hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities, and other community based organizations, networks, and associations.
