To make available support to nonprofit and for-profit institutions interested in providing biomedical training opportunities for individuals interested in careers in basic, clinical, and prevention research important to the National Cancer Program.

FY 2016 Manpower Award estimates that 1,416 awards will be made. In FY2016, 545 individual full time training position awards (FTTP/awards) were made and 228 of the 545 were competing awards totaling $9,511,000. In FY2016, 144 institutional awards with 947 FTTPs were made and 45 of the 144 were competing awards totaling $13,956,000. In FY2016, 402 Career awards were made totaling $71,601,000. In FY2016, 74 Cancer Education awards were made totaling $23,260,000.

FY2020 Manpower made 824 awards.
FY2021 Manpower Award was 592 awards.

FY2023 Manpower Award 1,314 actual awards made.
FY2024 Manpower Award estimation is 2,370 awards.
FY2025 Manpower Award estimation is 2,345 awards.
