Program objective

To improve the effectiveness, cost efficiency, and protection of public safety and water quality. Pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 1302f(b), stormwater infrastructure technology, this assistance program provides grant funding to establish and maintain Centers of Excellence for Stormwater Infrastructure Technologies (CESITs), to be located in various regions throughout the United States. Funding will support projects that establish regional CESITs that will conduct research on new and emerging stormwater control infrastructure technologies and alternative funding approaches; provide technical assistance to State, Tribal, and local governments; and collaborate with regional institutions, among other eligible activities. Funding will also support one CESIT project to create and maintain a national electronic clearinghouse that contains information relating to new and emerging stormwater control infrastructure technologies
