In FY 2007, the average daily census was 18,087 and is projected to be 18,268 and 18,451 in FY 2008 and FY 2009 respectively.
167 individual State Veterans Homes provided care to eligible Veterans at a total cost of $1,768,393,024, which included nursing home care, domiciliary care, and adult day health care. This amount also includes retroactive payments for the PACT Act. Of this, nursing home care made up $1,716,923,116 of funds provided to States.
