Program objective

To provide financial assistance to States furnishing domiciliary care to eligible veterans in State Veterans' Homes which meet the standards prescribed by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

    In fiscal year 2007, the average daily census was 3,890 and is projected to be 3,892 and 3,894 in FY 2008 and FY 2009 respectively.

  2. 2024

    167 individual State Veterans Homes provided care to eligible Veterans at a total cost of $1,768,393,024, which included nursing home care, domiciliary care, and adult day health care. This amount also includes retroactive payments for the PACT Act. Of this, domiciliary care made up $48,716,625 of funds provided to States.
