The Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program provides technical assistance and Federal financial assistance for planning grants and capital construction grants to address infrastructure barriers, reconnect communities, and improve peoples’ lives.

    On March 13th, 2023, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced $185 million in grant awards for Reconnecting Communities Pilot (RCP) Program awards. The program was coupled with a one-time funding infusion from the Neighborhood Equity and Access (NAE) program, which brought the total amount awarded to $3.3 billion.
