The Rural Surface Transportation Grant Program will provide Federal financial assistance to highway, bridge, and tunnel projects, highway safety projects, highway freight projects, and integrated mobility management projects, located in rural areas.

In 2022, DOT awarded 12 projects approximately $272 million out of a pool of approximately 260 applications.
In 2023, DOT selected 13 projects to receive approximately $645 million in FY 2023-2024 discretionary grant funding from a pool of approximately 174 applications.”
