Program objective

The State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) is a payment program designed to provide federal assistance to states and localities that incur certain types of costs due to the incarceration of undocumented criminal aliens during a particular 12-month reporting period. Performance Measure 1: Number of state and local jurisdictions receiving SCAAP funds for incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens; and, Performance Measure 2: Number of inmate days reimbursed to state and local jurisdictions for eligible inmates.
