OSD ManTech provides federal financial assistance for basic, applied, and advanced research to implement DoD plans, programs, projects, activities, and policies that promote the development and application of advanced technologies to manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment that are essential to the national defense; improve the manufacturing quality, productivity, technology, and practices of businesses and create a robust, skilled, advanced manufacturing workforce providing goods and services to the DoD; and provide for repair and remanufacturing in support systems commands, depots, air logistics centers, and shipyards as well as operational point of need manufacturing capabilities. Disseminate information concerning improved manufacturing concepts, best practices, product data exchange specifications, computer-aided acquisition and logistics support, and rapid acquisition of manufactured parts. Sustain and enhance the skills and capabilities of the manufacturing work force. Promote development and dissemination of tools that expand the skills and capabilities of the manufacturing work force, provide for higher levels of worker education and training, and facilitate coordination across DoD manufacturing technology programs, industrial preparedness programs, and similar programs undertaken by other departments and agencies of the Federal Government or private sector.

Provided federal financial assistance for nine DoD MIIs with at least 18 assistance modifications totaling $72,900,000. Produced dual-use and dedicated defense manufacturing technology advances to support the Warfighter and the US manufacturing ecosystem. MIIs assembled and leveraged cost-share from university, industry, and other government partners to advance manufacturing technologies in critical defense areas.
Awarded continuation OT-R agreements to three of the nine DoD MIIs adding ten years of performance with an average government investment of $5,600,000 per year per MII. Awarded 39 government needs projects with a total amount of $178,918,588 with project awards ranging from $300,000 to $89,900,000. Awarded the M-EWD cooperative agreement for two years of performance with three, one-year options for a total estimated amount of $19,052,813.
Will award two follow-on MII assistance agreements that average ten years of performance with an average government investment of $5,700,000 per year for each MII. Award at least 30 government needs projects with an estimated total amount of $56,657,196, and an average award amount of $1,954,000 per project award.
