The Minority Business Development Agency’s (MBDA) Capital Readiness Program (Program) was designed to help close the entrepreneurship gap between socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SEDI) and non-SEDI. This program funded qualified organizations that had the expertise to provide technical assistance for entrepreneurs starting or scaling their businesses who was seeking various forms of capital.

Grantees must meet the performance goals and metrics that were outlined in their approved proposal that was submitted and evaluated in the alignment with the Notice of Funding Opportunity Announcement.
Grantees helped revive entrepreneurship in America after the devastation of the pandemic.
Grantees designed programs to entrepreneurs by providing them with the technical assistance to excel, thrive, and successfully secure growth capital.
Grantee provided the tools and technical assistance necessary for entrepreneurs to start their businesses; (2) helped accelerate the growth and scale of SEDI-owned businesses; (3) attracted place-based networks and capital opportunities; and (4) helped entrepreneurs secure access to capital or take advantage of other governmental (federal, state, or local) equity capital programs.
