The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is authorized by Section 22007 of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to provide financial assistance for farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners who experienced discrimination by USDA in farm lending prior to 2021. The law provides $2.2 billion for this purpose. USDA established the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program (DFAP) to implement this assistance.
