To encourage and improve the use of telemedicine, telecommunications, computer networks, and related advanced technologies to provide educational and medical benefits through distance learning and telemedicine projects to people living in rural areas and to improve rural opportunities.

FY 17 86 DLT grants awards totaling $27,720,725 were made to projects in 30 states and territories.
128 DLT grants awards totaling $37 million were made to projects in 43 States & Territories.
For FY 24, the program received 321 applications totaling $245 Million in requested funding. Of the amount received, 109 awards were approved.
