Program objective

Emphasis on expanding existing partnerships and the creation of new ones to initiate the reforestation of non-Federal mined land across the U.S. Increases in forestation procedures within these environmentally sensitive areas will be the basis for measuring performance.

    FY23, funded six projects in Appalachia. In total, these projects will restore approximately 1,458 acres of former coal mined land and plant 874K new tree seedlings.
