Program objective

The focus of this program is for project work to be performed on National Forest System lands in the following areas: 1) fuels reduction projects on National Forest System lands that are within a wildland-urban interface, 2) vegetation management projects on National Forest System lands that are carried out in accordance with the Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003, 3) provide environmental reviews under obligated by the Chief of the Forest Service under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, and 4) protection and inventory of old-growth and matures forests on National Forest System lands.
