To serve as the Nation's Chief Agricultural information resource by providing agricultural information products and services through traditional library functions and through modern electronic dissemination to agencies of the USDA, public organizations, and individuals.

    A collaborative research team analyzed legal and regulatory issues facing the agricultural sector and produced authoritative information resources on significant issues including heirs property, taxation, technology, farm worker safety, and local and regional food systems.
