These grants provide support to State agencies in developing the capacity to collect and analyze outcome reporting data as required by Section 16(h)(5)(B) of the Food and Nutrition Act. Grant funds may be used to support State and local agencies in collecting and reporting outcome data for SNAP E&T programs. FNS is interested in funding projects that further State’s ability to use data to continually advance equity in SNAP E&T programs.

Accomplishments from the grants awarded in FY 2017 and completed in FY 2020 include: • Integration of SNAP E&T participant data within the education and workforce longitudinal data systems. • Development of SNAP E&T metrics for federal reporting • Creation of SNAP E&T interactive feedback dashboards • Creation of SNAP E&T data systems for the collection, analysis, and reporting of SNAP E&T participation
A recipient received $750,000 to focus on improving the state’s SNAP E&T data validity and reliability. The project successfully created a new system, ISETS, which focuses on bridging data between SNAP E&T data systems and other SNAP information management data bases, updates the electronic referral of E&T volunteers, and automates data collection and reporting on the FNS-583 data report.
